Family Beach Vacation Destinations in Florida

Augustine

The historical city of St. Augustine is a must-see family destination despite not being known as a beach destination. There are more than 40 miles of scenic coastline along the St. Augustine coast, where Spanish explorers set foot hundreds of years ago, which is both secluded and unspoiled. The beach is the perfect place to spend the day, while the historic district is the perfect place to spend the evening. Among the attractions in the city, children enjoyed visiting the Pirate and Treasure Museum, the Old Jail, and the Alligator Farm.

If you are looking for an excellent location at a budget-friendly rate, we recommend the Hilton Garden Inn at St. Augustine Beach.

Singer Island

Singer Island is part of The Palm Beaches and feels like a private oasis. You will feel relaxed and sun-kissed when you visit the wide beaches, turquoise water, and breezy air. There are a number of kid-friendly sites within a short drive of the island, though there are not many attractions on the island. Visit the Loggerhead Marine Life Center during the week to meet recently rescued sea turtles and participate in classes and storytimes. The nearby John D. MacArthur State Park also features the urban estuary of Lake Worth Lagoon and the Intracoastal Waterway, where you can kayak, canoe, hike, and visit the Nature Center.

It is a great beachfront hotel for families that has a children's club and an all-suite Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort and Spa.

Delray Beach

Listed as one of USA Today's Top 10 Most Fun Small Towns in America, Delray Beach is a small beach town with a big personality. Take a stroll through the unique Morikami Japanese Gardens when you are not enjoying the white-sand beaches and delicious local restaurants. Experience some unique family entertainment at the Silverball Museum with modern and old-school arcade games, or visit the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton.

It is recommended that you stay at the Delray Sands, a beachfront boutique hotel that offers the perfect blend of upscale comfort and coziness. The Delray Beach Marriott is a larger hotel that offers a variety of amenities.

Hollywood Beach

Located in South Florida, this beach destination is a popular family destination with a wide beach and boardwalk that is perfect for cycling, rollerblading, or taking a stroll in the evening before enjoying a meal at a beachfront restaurant. You can take a kayak tour of Whiskey Creek at John U. Lloyd State Park by hopping on the FREE Hollywood Trolley.

The Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort offers complimentary chairs and umbrellas on prime beach space directly in front of the hotel and is my favorite family-friendly hotel on Hollywood Beach. There are three swimming pools, a Flow Rider, and a hut where kayaks and paddle boards may be rented for exploring the mangroves along the intercoastal waterways. The Diplomat is an excellent choice for families looking for luxurious lodging.

South Beach

South Beach is an excellent place to enjoy playing with your children, which may surprise some. By visiting during the winter (as opposed to spring break), you can avoid the wilder crowds. The Miami Children's Museum is located just over the bridge from Miami Beach, just in case it rains or the kids need a break from the waves. A must-see destination for children who enjoy marine life, the Miami Seaquarium is an amusement park, museum, educational program, and rescue center all in one.

Located in South Beach, Hotel Victor is a beautiful boutique hotel. It is a great hotel for families due to its walkable location, beach playground across the street, shallow heated pool, and Sugar Factory restaurant located right off the hotel lobby. On the historic Espanola Way, Casa Victoria Orchid is another excellent accommodation option.

Naples

Naples, Florida, is a popular destination for golf courses and high-end shopping, but it is also a great place for families to enjoy a vacation. Naples's beaches are located on the Gulf of Mexico and offer miles of soft white sand, gentle waves, and beautiful warm weather throughout the year. Besides the abundance of beaches, Naples offers a wide range of family-friendly attractions and activities. You can spend half a day exploring nature at the Naples Zoo and Caribbean Gardens. There is no doubt that you will not want to miss Golisano's Children's Museum of Naples if you have younger children. In addition to great shelling, calm kayaking, and good fishing off Naples Pier, the area offers many waterside activities.

An excellent beachfront hotel in Naples is the Edgewater: This all-suite boutique hotel is conveniently located on the beach. As a beachfront hotel offering activities for children, the Ritz Carlton Naples is also a great choice for families.

Sanibel and Captiva Islands

On Sanibel and Captiva Islands, located just outside of Fort Myers, you will find many beaches that feel private and secluded. There are plenty of shells near the Sanibel Lighthouse, which is a favorite place to take the kids. Consider renting bikes for a day and exploring the entire island, stopping at the J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Center along the way. Captiva's Mucky Duck beach is a family favorite to watch the sunset. While having fun, the Sanibel Sea School introduces kids to marine ecosystems through an interactive educational program.

You can enjoy a luxurious island escape at the South Seas Island Resort. On the property of this expansive resort, you will find everything you need to have an enjoyable beach vacation for the entire family.

Siesta Key

A barrier island in Sarasota, Siesta Key Beach is consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the country. The sand is composed of 99% pure quartz, which makes it soft, sugar-fine, and cool to the touch. Parking is FREE; the waves are calm, and there are beach volleyball courts, a large playground, picnic tables, and outdoor showers. Visit the nearby Ringling Museum and the Children's Rainforest Garden at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens for a family-friendly day out.

It is recommended that you stay in a condo-style accommodation on the beach if you wish to take full advantage of this beautiful and relaxing beach destination. You may consider renting one of the many rental homes available in the area or staying at the Hyatt Residence Club for the entire family.

Clearwater

Clearwater Beach is a beautiful and family-friendly addition to your Orlando vacation. Plan a few hours at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to take a break from the sunshine and sand. Visit Pier 60 in the evening for a wonderful sunset celebration with artisans, crafters, street performers, and more. Visit Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise for a unique perspective on the Gulf of Mexico.

The Hilton Clearwater Beach Hotel is located adjacent to Pier 60, making it a convenient location for evening activities with children. You can enjoy a car-free vacation at this comfortable and modern hotel.
